• Our cottages are country vacation homes.  Whether you have a large or small group, we can accommodate you in our  4 & 5 bedroom homes.   They are NOT WATERSIDE, but; there are lot of water activities nearby in the immediate area. The Glen Meadows Equestrian Centre is great for the kids, and offers summer camps. Or take the kids swimming at the Durham Conservation Area. Both only about a 5 minute drive from this location.  And don't forget about our stocked trout ponds that are only a 10 minute drive from the houses. Try catching the naturally fed  brook,brown, rainbow trout, & Large-Mouth Bass. Why settle for just one type of getaway.   • 5 bedroom country home, with 6 double beds.
  • Hardwood floors and original natural woodwork.

  • The downstairs consists of a livingroom with gas fireplace, 3 piece bath, kitchen, one bedroom with a double bed, and laundry room.
  • There is a front & back staircase in the home.
  • The upstairs has 3 bedrooms with a double bed, one large bedroom with 2 double beds, and a 4 piece bath, as well as a small room over the downstairs laundry room.
  • This home has been done up to represent an era in the 1920's. The pictures are late 1800's to early 1900's. They are very sullen & serious portraits typical of that era.
  • The downstairs bathroom has an original back-to-wall cupboard, cast iron claw tub, original sink, and wainscotting surrounding . A basic, functional washroom.
  • The upstairs washroom is typical of the 1950's. Clean, plain, but; functional. All fixtures are original.
  • The kitchen has one wall taken up with painted kitchen cupboards, also typical of this style of home in the early 1920's. This room is very large, with a table that will seat 10 comfortably.
  • This home will be enjoyed by anyone that is interested in furnishings dating back to the late 1800's up to the early 1920's.
  • This property used to be a children's camp, therefore, there are other buildings on site. These other buildings are not in use at the present time. The Main House is situated at the end of the lane.

  • And for the fisherman , try our fish out ponds stocked with brook, brown,& rainbow trout and large-mouth bass located 10 minutes from the house.

What to Bring 

 

• Your own towels

• Garbage bags
• Enough sheets & pillow cases for 6 double beds
• Dish soap ,dishwasher detergent
• Toilet paper
• Kitchen tea towels and dish cloths
• Laundry soap for the cottages that have automatic washers if you choose to do laundry on site    
• Drinking water: If you are used to the chlorinated water in the city, you might want to bring some bottled water. All houses have well water, which is perfectly safe, but; may have a slightly different taste than what you are used to.
• Cell phone or calling card. None of the cottages have phones. Make sure that your phone has range in the cottage country calling area, if you are relying on a cell phone.

  Garbage Disposal:  During weekend visits, there will be a $10.00 fee for removal of garbage from the cottages to the landfill site. During the summer months, the fee is $20.00 per cottage. This fee can be left at the cottage, at the time of your departure.
